Visitors
have many places to explore. The ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, steeped in history and the legend of King Arthur and the
majestic Wells Cathedral, the crowning glory of Englands smallest City.
Wells Market Place lies at the heart of the
city and is flanked by historic buildings including the Town Hall, built in 1779, Penniless Porch which leads onto the
Cathedral Green, and the Bishop's Eye, the imposing gateway to the Bishop's Palace. Traditional open-air markets take
place here every Wednesday and Saturday.
Wells
may be small but is packed full of interest. Lively pubs, excellent restaurants, a cinema and a leisure centre.
There certainly is plenty to keep you busy.
